HOOTERIZATIONS: There’s music new and old from hometown heroes The Hooters to tout. Band drummer David Uosikkinen has started a singles-oriented recording project called “In the Pocket: Essential Songs of Philadelphia.” First salvo, a vibrant piece of ’80s pop punk called “All My Mondays” (B+) done originally by Joey Wilson and his band Youth Camp, in which Uosikkinen drummed. The lively remake (think Elvis Costello meets Boomtown Rats) also features Hooters’ Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman, plus Richard Bush, Greg Davis and William Wittman. It’s available for a 99 cent download at www.songsinthepocket.org. A portion of proceeds go to Settlement Music School.
